Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The photo is opened and processed inside your browser on your own phone or computer, and it is never sent to Centertainment or anyone else. The only downloads are the tool itself and the AI model, which your browser keeps in its cache so the next cut-out starts faster.
Is it really free? Is there a watermark?
Yes, it is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit, and you download at the full resolution of your photo (up to 16 megapixels). A Pro version for batch processing and HD cut-outs is planned; joining the waitlist costs nothing.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It is built for phones first and works in current Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet, Edge, Opera and Firefox. The first cut-out downloads a small AI model (about 5–7 MB). On a low-end phone big photos take longer, so keep the page open while it works, or use a laptop.
Why are some edges or hair not perfect?
The free models run on your device, so they are smaller than paid cloud models. Busy backgrounds, fine hair and a subject the same colour as the background are the hardest. Use the Soft edge slider to smooth the outline and the Erase and Restore brushes to fix any spot by hand. Browsers that support WebGPU can also switch to the HD model.
Which AI model does it use?
Standard uses U2-Netp (Apache-2.0) for any object, People uses MODNet (Apache-2.0) for portraits, and HD uses BiRefNet lite (MIT), which needs a browser with WebGPU and a 115 MB one-time download. All three licences allow commercial use, so anything you make is yours to use.
Terms of use
- Only edit photos you took, own, or have permission to use. Removing a background does not give you rights to someone else's picture, logo or product shot.
- Never use the signature tool to copy or apply someone else's signature. Forging a signature is a crime.
- Passport and ID offices make the final decision. Some (including the U.S. and UK) refuse photos edited with software, so read the official rules before you replace a background.
- Your images are processed in your browser and never uploaded to Centertainment. Your browser downloads the AI model once and keeps it in its cache.
- The tools are free and provided "as is". AI cut-outs can miss fine hair or similar colours, so check the result and keep your original.

Why we built a background remover that runs on your phone
Most popular removers upload your photo to their servers and let you download only a small preview unless you buy credits. That is a bad deal for a small business owner on mobile data, and a privacy risk when the photo is your ID, your signature or your child.
