The Kylie Jenner Hulu series is the next step in her move from reality TV to scripted drama. Deadline reports that Jenner is set to star in and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend, a murder-mystery thriller that is close to a straight-to-series order at Hulu. Here is what the report says, who is behind the project, and which details are still not confirmed.

What we know
- The report (REPORTED, Deadline exclusive). Deadline reported on 5 October 2026 that Kylie Jenner will headline and executive produce Bachelorette Weekend (a working title), a thriller drama that is finalising a deal for a straight-to-series order at Hulu.
- Not yet confirmed by Hulu. A Hulu representative declined to comment to Deadline, and TheWrap says Hulu also declined to comment to it. Deadline says the series order “is still being negotiated”.
- Her first major acting role (REPORTED). Deadline and TheWrap both describe it as Jenner’s first major role. She previously made a cameo in Charli xcx’s A24 film The Moment.
- The plot (REPORTED). A bachelorette weekend turns deadly when the bride, played by Jenner, is found murdered in a pool, and her closest friends all become suspects. Deadline says Jenner’s character is the “North Star” of the series, which pieces together what led to her death.
Who is behind the Kylie Jenner Hulu series
According to Deadline, the project was created and written by author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver, whose bestselling young-adult novels include Before I Fall, the Delirium trilogy and Panic. It is based on an unpublished book by Flora Collins, author of Nanny Dearest and A Small Affair. Oliver’s company StoryGiants developed it, and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment is producing alongside 20th Television.
Kim Kardashian is an executive producer alongside her sister. Deadline reports that the original script was sent to Kardashian to produce, that she thought it would be a strong starring vehicle for Jenner and passed it to her, and that the project went to Hulu through Kardashian’s first-look deal with 20th Television. Hulu, which like 20th Television is owned by Disney, then bought it before it could go to other buyers.
Why this is a notable move
Jenner, 29, became famous as a teenager on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and is best known today as the founder of Kylie Cosmetics and one of the most-followed people on Instagram. Acting is new territory. The family’s reality series The Kardashians, which she also stars in and executive produces, returns to Hulu for its eighth season on 8 October, Deadline says.
The project follows the path Kim Kardashian has already taken. Kardashian is the star and an executive producer of the Hulu legal drama All’s Fair, which TheWrap says returns for its second season in November. She also stars in the upcoming Netflix film The Fifth Wheel, and Deadline says she is an executive producer on the Netflix young-adult drama Calabasas and the unscripted series Team Moms: Baseball on Paramount+. The sisters are now treating scripted television as a second business alongside reality TV.
For readers in the UK and elsewhere, it is worth knowing how Hulu shows travel. Hulu is a US service. Outside the US, Disney usually makes Hulu originals available on Disney+. No international release plan has been announced for Bachelorette Weekend, so we cannot say where or when it will stream outside the US.
What is not confirmed
This story rests on one exclusive report, which other outlets, including TheWrap, have credited to Deadline. Until Hulu or the producers confirm it, readers should treat these points as reported rather than settled:
- whether the straight-to-series order is finalised;
- the final title, since Bachelorette Weekend is a working title;
- the number of episodes, the rest of the cast, a director or a filming date; and
- any release date.
Deadline’s reporting on TV deals is generally reliable, but a deal described as “finalising” can still change. We will update this story when there is an official announcement.
The bigger picture for celebrity-led TV
Streaming services are competing hard for projects that arrive with a ready-made audience. A star with a huge social following can bring attention to a new show from the first day, even before reviews arrive. The risk is that critics and viewers judge the performance harder than they would an unknown actor’s.

What happens next
- Hulu or 20th Television may confirm the series order once negotiations finish.
- Casting announcements for Jenner’s co-stars, the friends who become suspects, would be the next sign that production is moving.
- The Kardashians season 8 premieres on Hulu on 8 October, which is likely to put Jenner back in the spotlight this week.
